We would like to thank everyone who supported the SSC 24hr Sail 2008 and made it such a fantastic event. If you would like to share your memories of the event for future generations please head over to sscoldsalts.co.uk where you can record them alongside other past and present club members.

Return of the Commodores

This year, the aim is to make the SSC 10th 24 hour sail an amazing event, involving as many people as possible who are or have been connected to the Salterns, not only to raise lots of money for Children in Need but also to celebrate the continued success of what is a very special club, the Salterns. As a part of this, we would like as many past Commodores of the club to come along, join in the fun of the event, help fundraise, and meet up with old and new friends.

Since the Club dates back to 1961, that is over 45 people to track down with only a date, an initial and a surname, so we have been hard at work over the past 9 months on people finder, networking and scouring telephone directories!

We don't have any definite plans for the Commodores yet - it very much depends on numbers but fingers crossed they will be doing their own 24 hour sail alongside the juniors - assuming someone can be gently persuaded into the 2-3am slot. We'll keep you posted...
