STOP PRESS!!!
If you were listening to BBC Radio 2 on the morning of Wednesday 8th October, you may have heard the exploits of a certain Salterns Sailing Club mentioned by Mr. Children in Need himself, Terry Wogan!!!
He said, "Now...oh let me tell you, things don't get more real than Children in Need - a scant five and a bit weeks away the 14th of November, the big evening. And of course all throughout the year the great thing about Children in Need is that people raise money, whether it's twenty quid, a thousand pounds, whatever it is. It's the people's charity and we're very proud to be part of it. And Hannah Snellgrove...Salterns Sailing Club, a small childrens' sailing club run by children for children in Lymington has a sponsored 24 hour sail for Children in Need, and they've raised in their time over £47,000. So Friday the 14th and Saturday the 15th of November, spare a thought for them because the weather won't be the Mae West - well...you never know! So come down to the Salterns, Maiden Lane, Lymington during the day and join in the fun! Yeah! Well...well done, well done to you!"
We are extremely fortunate to have had such a mention; it is very hard for Children in Need fundraising events to get a spot on his show - so he must be suitably impressed! In fact we actually bagged the first main part of his Children in Need section - awesome!
